ALL VISITORS PLEASE NOTE: WHILE DRIVING AT THE AIRFIELD, ALL VEHICLES MUST YIELD TO AIRCRAFT. PLEASE OBSERVE SPEED LIMITS AND WATCH FOR PEDESTRIANS.
Hicks Airfield is located about 12 miles
North of downtown
Typical days at Hicks Airfield yield single and multi-engine aircraft, home-built planes and Warbirds. If you are interested in plane rides or flight training, they are both available through businesses located at Hicks Airport, or one could watch planes from the local restaurant if they so desired. Aviation with a neighborhood spirit is the main theme at Hicks Airfield!
The center piece of the airfield is the hard-surface runway extending 3760 feet long and 60 feet wide, at an elevation of 855 feet above sea level. The airport is lighted with a rotating beacon tower, and three main north south taxi ways, completely paved.
Airport operation is guided by the Hicks Airfield Pilots Association (H.A.P.A.). Membership within the association consists of the property owners at the airfield. Hicks Airfield is a public access airport, but privately operated.
